This year school will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5 th  March.   We will be participating in activities that are being run by the Literacy Trust in conjunction with the National Year of Reading as set out by the Department of Education.   Our whole school theme is ‘Sport in Literature.’  We will be looking at non-fiction texts which explore different sports and influential sporting personalities.   We invite you to dress in sporty clothing  for this day. Over the half term break, school invites children to create a poster to encourage reading as it is good for your well-being and mental health . Please feel free to be as creative as possible. They could be created using arts and crafts, a line drawing, using photography, created in a publishing programme etc. Children will need to submit their entries by Friday 7th November 9am .
