Early Collection during a normal school day

Dear Parents and Carers,
Over recent weeks we have noticed an increasing number of pupils being collected early from school, often with only a short period of the school day remaining. While we understand that occasional early collection may be unavoidable, the growing frequency of these requests is beginning to impact both learning time and the smooth running of the school day.
To support children’s continuity of learning and minimise disruption, we will be introducing a new procedure.
Early Collection Cut‑Off Time
After Easter, early collection of pupils will only be permitted before 2:30pm.
All early collections will only be authorised if medical evidence is provided (for example, a hospital appointment letter or GP confirmation).
This change is designed to ensure that pupils can benefit from the full school day while helping staff maintain a calm and organised end‑of‑day routine.
We appreciate that emergencies do occur, and these will always be handled sensitively. However, early pick‑ups should now be planned before the 2:30pm cut‑off.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain high expectations for attendance, learning, and safeguarding.
If you have any questions or feel you may need support with this change, please contact the school office.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Scoffham
Head Teacher
