At Stow Heath Primary school, we will be supporting Children’s Mental Health week on Friday the 17th of February 2023. This year’s theme is Let’s Connect.
Let’s Connect is about making meaningful connections. People thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our wellbeing. When we have healthy connections – to family, friends and others – this can support our mental health and our sense of wellbeing.
For Children’s Mental Health Week 2023, we’re encouraging people to connect with others in healthy, rewarding and meaningful ways. For our Stow Heath community, this will mean Dressing to Express on the 17th of February.
We are supporting a city-wide fundraiser where local primary and secondary schools are giving their young people an opportunity to express how they are feeling and celebrate a diverse range of emotions.
This will mean, on Friday 17th February 2023, our pupils will be encouraged to:
A.) Come dressed in their favourite colour or a unique outfit to express how they are feeling, it can be as simple or elaborate as they like!
B.) Come dressed in a colour to express how they are feeling i.e. white – calm, green – chilled, pink – loved as an example.
We are asking for a small donation to raise funds as part of Children’s Mental Health campaign to be used within school to support our wellbeing offer. We are building a wealth of resources to support our pupils in this and would like to build on this further. This will support us in a variety of ways. Take a look at some of the books you have already supported us with.
You will also be sent a link to a Wellbeing questionnaire. To get a full picture of how we are doing, we need as many as possible of you to fill it in for us. Thank you in advance! Our final verification is in April.
