Reminders for the start of term

Updated: Sep 2

Dear Parents,

I hope that you have all had a lovely restful summer holiday and that our children are ready to start the Autumn Term on Thursday.

Please find below a reminder of our plans for reopening school on Thursday.

Children starting in Nursery

Parents should have received a letter from school towards the end of the Summer Term stating your child's start date for Nursery.

Once all children have been inducted, the normal times for Nursery will be:

  • AM Nursery 8.40-11.40am

  • PM Nursery 12.30-3.30pm

Children should be dropped off and collected from the entrance to the rear of school along Rainbows path (the same entrance/exit that has been used this year)

Children starting in Reception

To support the transition from Nursery to Reception, there will be two settling in sessions for children in Reception on Thursday 2nd September and Friday 3rd September. Again, parents should have received a letter from school stating which sessions your child should attend and at what time. On these days, children should be dropped off and collected from the Reception entrance to the rear of the school along Rainbows path (the same entrance/exit that was used for Reception during the past year)

From Monday 6th September, all Reception children will attend full time and will enter and exit school from the main playground.

Children starting in Year 1 to Year 6 from Thursday 2nd September (& Reception from Monday 6th September)

The school day will return to 8.45am-3.15pm for all children. Gates will be closed at 8.55am. If your child arrives later than this time, they will receive a late mark.

Parents will be permitted onto the playground and children will enter their classrooms from the playground in a return to pre-Covid times. A one way system has been created to ensure that all members of the school community can be kept safe. Children and parents will enter the playground through the smaller of the gates and exit through the larger gates at both the start and end of the day. Staff will be available on the gates to signpost where you need to go to support this transition.

Our support staff will be on the doors to each year group entrance every morning and teachers will be in classrooms to receive the children.

A reminder that there will be no breakfast club or after school clubs on Thursday 2nd or Friday 3rd September. Breakfast club and after school clubs will resume on Monday 6th September.

Further updates will follow over the course of this week about PE days and other dates you may need to know throughout Autumn Term. The dates of our INSET days and school holidays have also been added to the end of this letter again as a reminder for parents.

In opening straight away on Thursday without an INSET day, we are hoping to settle our children back into a routine quickly but this may also mean that there may possibly be a few teething issues coming back into a post-Covid routine. We kindly ask that you are patient whilst we iron out any situations should any arise. We will of course keep parents updated with any changes should we need to make any.

Looking forward to welcoming our children back into school on Thursday!
