How will new local restrictions affect school?

Dear Parents & Carers,

We were informed on Friday that Wolverhampton is going to be placed in a 'household lockdown' situation from tomorrow (Tuesday 22nd September). This means that each household must stay separate and must not mix in each others houses or gardens. At the moment, schools are NOT affected by this. If families stick to the Government's instructions, that will help to keep schools open.

WE ARE OPEN AS USUAL! We will continue with all our in-school measures to keep the children in 'bubbles' and to continue with extra hand sanitizing and cleaning. We have strict plans in place to ensure that year groups maintain social distancing from other year groups.

PLEASE make sure that you play your part by NOT letting the children go to each others houses and gardens. If we can get it right now, hopefully that will stop any further measures being put into place. These restrictions mean that it is even more important that we have your support around the school site by adhering to the following measures:

  • Please try to arrive only a few minutes before your drop off/pick up time.

  • Whilst waiting at the gates, please stand only with those in your household.

  • Maintain a safe distance between you and the person in front of you. (Minimum of 1m)

  • To protect our staff, please do not hold conversations on the gates or classroom doors. If you need to speak to your child's teacher, you MUST contact the school office first. Thank you to parents who have been sticking to this measure.

  • We strongly encourage parents to wear face masks if you are able to when dropping off/collecting your child as these will not only protect yourselves but protect those around you. This does not apply to children.

Covid-19 Symptoms If you think that your child or any member of your household has Covid symptoms, you MUST not send them into school. Please read the info on previous post 'Covid-19 Pupil Absence Guide' for more details.

Guidance changes on an almost daily basis and we will update parents with changes as and when we have updates.

Yours Sincerely,

Mrs Scoffham
