Dear Parents & Carers,
The end of the school year is upon us already and it certainly has been a different year to the one I anticipated when I was appointed as Interim Headteacher in January but despite the obvious challenges, I do feel we have all worked together to make the best of this time and I am grateful for your continued support.
Once again, I want to express my thanks to all of the school staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic. I feel it is also important to say thank you to our home-schooling parents for all of your hard work. Having to home-school your children and ensure they keep up with their learning as much as possible must have been a difficult and frustrating tasks at times especially juggling your own work commitments too but I bet you have all done a fantastic job and your children should also be extremely proud of themselves for their hard work too!
It is unfortunate that the end of this school year is not the same as other years; we haven’t been able to welcome our new starters in the same way, nor say a proper goodbye to those leaving us. Today, we will say farewell to some of our Nursery children as they continue their learning journey at other schools and also a fond farewell to our Year 6 children. We hope you look back on your time with us, whether it be for 6 months or 6 years, with a smile.
However, as we wave goodbye to some, we also wave hello to others. In September, we welcome four new members of staff into our school: Mrs Bennett in Nursery, Miss Toland in Reception; Miss Bird in Year 1 and Miss Marchant in Year 3.
It has been a strange and unique time in all of our lives as Coronavirus has taken over but we are thankfully starting to see the small signs of our world getting back to a bit of normality. September will soon be upon us and a new academic year will begin; it won’t be the same as what we are used to but I am confident that our Stow Heath family will continue to shine like stars, supporting and caring for one another as we always do.
We very much look forward to welcoming Years 1 - 6 back into school on Wednesday 2nd September. Early Years will be joining us at different dates and letters have been mailed to families confirming exact arrangements. Prior to returning, please read again the letter I sent out earlier this week outlining the new procedures and logistics for September.
We will be continually reviewing our procedures for September in light of Government guidance and as such there may be adaptations that have to be put into place, but rest assured, our main priority is that our pupils are happy, safe and continue their learning journey.
Please keep an eye on the school website over the summer break for updated information – Thank you!
Finally, I would like to wish all of you a healthy and happy summer break. All of us here at Stow Heath are looking forward to welcoming you back to school in September with the biggest of smiles on our faces!
