Drop off & Pick up points from tomorrow

Dear Parents and Carers,

I can share with you now the drop off and collection points for each returning year group. Our usual entrance across the playground is closed off as a result of us separating the playground into sections for each bubble to use and to also limit the number of adults on site during the course of the day. Please do not queue where you would normally wait for the gates to be open as this is no longer an entry point into school during this partial school reopening.

Nursery

This will be the same as it always has been. Access to the Nursery will be via the path that parents use at the end of morning Nursery and the start of afternoon Nursery. A member of staff will be at the gates at the start of each session to greet you and your child back to school. At the end of the session, your child will be called when you are at the front of the queue.

Reception & Rockets

Children in these bubbles will be in classrooms along the Key Stage 1 corridor and so it makes sense for their entrance to be in the same place. Next to the path to Nursery is a drive way which has a set of double gates at the bottom. Parents with children in Reception and Rockets should wait on the path outside of these gates before opening. A member of staff will open the gates and direct you to where you need to go. Reception gates are closest to the main gates and Rockets are just further along the drive way. Again, please stick to the painted yellow markers whilst waiting. At the end of the day, the gates will be opened and children will be called when you are at the front of the queue.

Year 1

As shared previously, Year 1 children will be using the Year 3 classrooms on the Key Stage 2 corridor for the time being. Therefore it makes sense for us to use the gates nearest to the main staff car park as the entrance point. Parents should form a line outside these gates until a member of staff arrives to open to the gate and greet you and your child. At the end of the day, the classroom doors will be opened and children will be called out of their classrooms when parents are at the front of the queue.

Year 6

Returning Year 6 pupils will be based in their normal classrooms near the main school office. This means that we can use the gates that lead to where the office is. We ask parents to wait along the path outside of school where the sign is and wait for a member of staff who will open the gates that lead into the classrooms. At the end of the day, the classroom doors will be opened and children will be called out of their classrooms when parents are at the front of the queue.

Key Worker children not in the listed year groups

The main school office will remain as the entrance and pick up points for your child. This is because many key worker children do not stay for the whole day and so parents will need to come to the main office to collect their child. We ask that only one parent comes to collect children as only one parent will be given access to the office if required.

A few reminders ahead of tomorrow:

  1. Children can wear own clothes so that they can washed straight away when they return home.

  2. Please try not to bring personal belongings other than coats, water bottles and lunchboxes into school. This will help us to limit any potential spread.

  3. If you have any messages for teachers, please ring the main school office and these messages can be passed on. Our priority is to get children safely into school and staff on the gates will be there to solely get the children into the building.

  4. We have had a few parents contact school today about whether their child can return tomorrow. If you have changed your mind and would like your child to attend, you need to ring the school office first and we will try our best to accommodate as soon as we can but we cannot do this for tomorrow at this late stage. We can only accept children into school tomorrow whose parents have informed us that they are coming and we have them on our lists. Please do not just turn up tomorrow as we have set up classrooms and staffed each bubble according to the needs of the children on our lists for tomorrow.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
